The UnaBella Story

UnaBella was created by two Southwest Florida families who believe great food comes from
tradition—and tradition starts at home.

Bruce Pleeter’s roots trace back to Alberobello, Italy, and he grew up in Utica, New York,
where Italian cooking is part of everyday life. Many of the flavors at UnaBella come straight
from the recipes his nonna made daily.
Diana opened South Street in 2007, building it into a Naples landmark over two
decades. Bruce later designed their Founders Square location by hand, and Diana made every
guest feel like family. She passed away, but the standard she set is the one UnaBella follows
every day.

Kimberly Pace Arquilla, creator of Neapolitan Gourmet, brings decades of scratch-made
Italian‑American cooking to UnaBella. Her connection to Italy runs deep—spending summers there
for over twenty years, learning the culture, the kitchens, and the respect for good
ingredients. Her son Giorgio continues that heritage, harvesting olives from their family land
for his artisan olive oil, Oro di Raiano.

Together, Bruce and Kimberly built UnaBella: a place for hand‑stretched New York‑style pizza,
hand‑tossed wings, and premium subs made the way their families always made them. Every dish
reflects generations of Italian tradition and the belief that food brings people together.

Rooted in Community

Being a neighborhood pizzeria means showing up for the neighborhood. UnaBella proudly supports
local youth sports, partners with area schools, and honors the veterans who serve our
community. When you dine with us, you’re supporting the families who make Southwest Florida
home.

Family First, Always

“UnaBella” means a beautiful one—and to us, that’s family. Whether it’s the family behind the
counter, the family recipes in the kitchen, or the families gathered at our tables in Cape
Coral and Bonita Springs, everyone who walks through our doors is treated like famiglia.
